I hesitate to use the word 'landslide' but attendees at the Shared Services workshop at IP11 last week voted decisively on their own Top 3 issues (after strongly endorsing the issues identified by the Deloitte and PwC surveys earlier this year):
(1) Managing process variants
(2) Retaining IP and strategic control where activities are outsourced
(3) Building a continuous improvement culture.
Haha - no real surprises here for regular readers! For others new to this blog, there is more on variants here, on retaining IP and control in outsourcing here, and on continuous improvement here.
Slides from the workshop are available from the conference website. Thanks to all who contributed!

Thanks Mike
It was a worthwhile and useful session.
I came away with some fresh thinking to do!
As BPO most of Shared Service sites are well established and we are encountering different issues than many that were discussed by the attendees who were establishing there Shared Service Centres.
